My heart is pounding throughout the course of reading the book. There’s just a magic whenever you read something related about Romeo and Juliet. No matter how tragic the whole thing about their love story, yet, it seems that we are always drawn about the concept of love- <b>that love conquers all.</b> Now this book, rewrites the whole notion of that tragic ending and putting an end to the curse of both houses saying that “…..Whether or not we had truly been cursed, and whether or not we had now paid our dues, he was my blessing, and I was his, and that was enough to disarm any missile that fate- or Shakespeare- might still be foolish enough to hurl our way. Now that’s a spoiler.

Another thing about this book is that it’s a mixture of elegance, a timeless mystery that would eventually drawn you into Siena, Italy like you’re actually on that place. It’s magical and mystifying and dreadfully romantic, I must tell you. I keep imagining that Alessandro/Romeo here was anyone a girl can dream of.

I highly recommend this book.

I think I am having one of those lucid fantasies once more about me Juliet and my Romeo who’s nowhere to be found. I need to have some reality check. It would be better if there would be a movie out of it.

I used to be the stereotype of reader where I first put into priority the famous  New York Times Bestseller or anything that has bestseller on its cover because I had this notion that it would be a great read. Perhaps most of the time, yes, but there are times that it really depends on the reader’s taste. But now, I’m slowly going out of my comfort zone and slowly devouring books that are more eccentric, more lyrical, symbolical or even metaphorical. Well, its just that I hate the feeling when I’m totally bored with a book and I got no choice but to abandon it. What a total waste of money!

Choosing a book is like taking risks, you’ll never really know what’s inside it. All you can read is overview of the story and sometimes reviews about it and no matter how good it was for other, it still depends on your preference as a reader.

But yeah, I’m still mastering the Craft of Choosing a Book. How ’bout you? How do you choose a book?

So anyway, have you ever encounter or let shall we say, have you ever been in a situation when you really want something that you tried everything to get and fail and while you’re at the brink of giving up the whole universe conspires to help you sending and letting out all those signs or perhaps all those entities to help you push through? As I’ve been still reading The Road Less Traveled, it now talks aboyt the miracle of serendipity and grace. It tells us how grace is being manifested in our daily lives almost in every possible way and sometimes we encounter them by pure chance, most of the time we overlooked them. I, myself, hace no idea how many I slip by.

But now i’m still on the outgrowth of finding things. I am learning about the concept of grace and looking all the possible ways to see it and I know I will.

My problem is, I run from problems. Not just from genetics but from almost all of them and I’ve just learned from the book I’m reading The Road Less Traveled that running from your problems actually doubles them up and you got to face them. It’s painful but you got to face them. Maybe, I’m avoiding that painful part but sooner or later we’ll get hurt and we’re just delaying it. So nevertheless, let’s face them.

I really have no spark of idea if everything for me is too late. I wish I could have realized it earlier. I wish I have been more open earlier.

I know that God was with me all through those hard times. I may not see Him but I can feel His presence and His encouragement. I just want to thank Him because He always answer my prayer. He’s the best!

So next week would apparently be the last week of being a junior in college. Time flies by so fast. But apparently as well, we have to prepare for our oral defense for our thesis. Cross fingers, I hope our panel judges won’t ask us mortifying questions. But still, we’ll be prepared.

To be really really honest– I don’t like the song. I mean, first hand I’m not a fan of Beiber-ish kind of song. In fact, I don’t have any of those song on my playlist so people aren’t really surprise if I hate this song. It’s just that she’s getting all this mean and harsh comments from people literally all over the world. Comments like: “It’s the worst song ever”, “The music video is a paradoy”….

Perhaps, we just let her be. Stop making all those harsh comment because she’s like only 13 years old. I mean, that’s really hard for someone. I think all of us know how hard was it to be like 13. People, media, friends they are all a big influence to us and I think she’s just — confuse. Perhaps, we’re all confuse. So let’s stop judging each other. There’s a lot more problems that we should be concerned about rather than this Friday music video.
